Edward E. Kurtz, age 74 years, of Pittstown, NJ died on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ on May 22, 1947, he was the son of the late Edward L. and Sophie Gorczyca Kurtz. He had resided in Hunterdon County, NJ since 1963.
Edward served in the United States Army from 1966-1968.
He attended a drafting technical school and was employed in the drafting, farming, and construction industries throughout his life. In addition, he also enjoyed woodworking.
He was a member of the Quakertown Recreation Club, Franklin Township, NJ. Furthermore, Edward was a die-hard Mets fan and would gladly tell you anything there was to know about the organization. He also loved taking care of his apple orchard. His family remembers him as someone who was simple, laid-back, and enjoyed life.
Surviving are his sisters, Kristine Booth, of Pittstown, NJ and Kathleen Kurtz, of Bloomfield, NJ; his nephew and caretaker, Richard Booth, of Pittstown, NJ as well as nephew, Michael Booth, of Bloomsbury, NJ. Additionally, he is survived by three great-nephews and four great-nieces.
A private graveside service will take place on Friday, June 25, 2021, in Saint Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
