Edward George Perkovich Sr., age 85, of Ringoes, NJ and Clinton, NC, died October 17, 2016 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC.
Ed was born October 27, 1930 in New York City to Joseph and Anna (Klch Rizzo) Perkovich. The family moved to Hunterdon County in 1931.
Ed served in the Marine Corps from 1951-1953. He worked for Johanna Farms delivering milk. As an owner-operator of an 18-wheeler dump trailer hauling out of New Hope Quarry, he helped build I-95 in Philadelphia and I-295 in Central and South Jersey. Ed delivered parts for Carver’s Auto Parts before retiring.
In addition to his parents, Ed was also predeceased by his brother Alfred. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virigina (Clawson) Perkovich, a son, Edward Perkovich, Jr. of Ringoes, NJ, a daughter, Debra Malahias (Angelo) of Clinton, NC, three grandchildren Nicole, Stephanie, and John of Clinton, NC and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Harbourton Cemetery, 1516 Harbourton Rocktown Rd, Lambertville, NJ 08530. Calling hours will be on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 at Holcombe Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
