Edward L. Hartl, age 82 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Bayonne, NJ, January 31, 1927, son of the late Edward George and Josephine Englert Hartl, he had resided in Flemington for the past four years, having formerly lived in Hopewell, NJ for thirty-eight years.
A United States Veteran, Mr. Hartl served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and in the Army during the Korean War.
He was a Manager for Allied Chemical, Bound Brook, NJ for over thirty years, then was employed by Johanna Farms, Raritan Township, NJ and then finally by J.B. Hill & Sons Lumber Company, Hopewell, NJ.
Mr. Hartl was a member of the Antique Car Club and enjoyed repairing antique clocks.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-one years, Eleanor Skorets Hartl; two daughters, Sharon Cole of Flemington, NJ and Marilyn Jones of Hopewell, NJ; a sister, Katherine Baciocco of San Fransico, CA; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home.
