Edward M. Haynes, Jr., age 93 years, of Boca Raton, FL, and Flemington, NJ, died on Saturday, Febraury 11, 2006, at his residence.
He was born and raised in Skillman, NJ. He retired in 1995, having worked many years as the owner and founder of E.M. Haynes , Jr. Inc., distributors of fuel oil and gasoline.
He was a graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA.
He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
He served as a Borough Councilman in Flemington, NJ. He was a member of the Flemington Baptist Church, the Flemington Lions Club, and the Copper Hill Country Club.
He was pre-deceased by his fist wife, Dorothy, and two sisters; Margaret Winant, and Alice Shurtleff. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Diana June Horvath Haynes; a son, Edward M. Haynes, III, of Flemington, NJ; a daughter, Susan H. Burns, and son-in-law Allan H. Burns, both of Big Pine Key, FL; and two nephews; John and Edward Winant of Milltown, NJ.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
