Edward Samson, age 87 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at his residence.
Born in New York City, NY, November 8, 1920, he was the son of the late Paul and Rosalia Petrofsky Samson.
He was school librarian and multi-media specialist at Delaware Valley Regional High School, Alexandria Township, NJ, retiring in 1980.
A 1937 graduate of Flemington High School, he was also a graduate of Rutgers University and received his Master's Degree in Library Science from Syracuse University.
He was a United States Navy veteran serving with the Seabees in World War II in the Soutn Pacific.
Mr. Samson was a member of the Clover Hill Reformed Church, Clover Hill, NJ, Flemington American Legion Post #159, and Darcy Lodge #37, F. & A. M., Flemington, NJ.
Surviving are his wife, Velma Gene Dunbar Samson; a daughter, Deborah Fouse of Milford, NJ; two sons, Peter Samson of Portland, OR, and Andre Samson of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday at 6 PM in the Clover Hill Reformed Church, Amwell Road, Clover Hill, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Clover Hill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
