Edward Shaw

Edward Shaw, age 87 years, of Bridgewater, NJ, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Robert Wood Johnson Somerset Hospital.

Born in Newark, NJ, February 22, 1934, son of the late Pearl Roberts Hearn, he had formerly resided in Belleville, West Orange, and Neshanic, NJ. He lived in Neshanic for 57 years, until 2021.

A 1952 Cape May High School graduate, Edward served in the United States Marine Corps shortly after high school. After the military Edward graduated from Newark College of Engineering and went on to own and operate his business, Northeast Instruments in Stirling, NJ. He retired at the age of 82. Edward enjoyed fishing and hunting, the Yankees and Giants, and was an avid history buff.

He is pre-deceased by his wife Marita E. Shaw in 2019; one brother, John (Jack) Shaw; his stepfather, Sylvester Hearn and his grandson, Ryan William Shaw.

Surviving are his two sons, Robert Shaw and his wife, Melissa, and Edward Shaw; two daughters, Teri Altemose and her husband, Rick and Jean Hathaway and her husband, James; two sisters, JoAnne Palmer, and Beverly Gragg and her husband, Royce; one brother, Donald Hearn; seven grandchildren, James Edward Shaw, Lauren Altemose, Stephen Altemose, James Matthew Hathaway, Peter Black, Katie Black (Surratt) and Kara Black (Hamilton) and three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 9:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, NJ. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 14, 2022, from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home.
