Edwin Perez

Edwin Perez, of Raritan Township NJ, age 70, died Friday, June 7, 2024, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Somerset in Somerville NJ.

Born December 1, 1953, in New York City, NY, Ed was the son of the late Juan and Rosaura (Crespo) Perez. He grew up in the Bronx, not far from Yankee Stadium, and moved to Hunterdon County 40 years ago where he has lived ever since.

Ed worked as a Compensation Manager in the telecommunications and insurance industries, primarily for the former Bell Telephone Co, Western Electric, Lucent Technologies, and Prudential Insurance Company of America. It was while working for Western Electric that he met the love of his life, Diana. The two were married nearly 40 years before his passing and enjoyed so many memories together.

A dog lover, Ed and Diana had a number of dogs throughout the years; Airedales, a Jack Russell Terrier, and their favorites, Greyhounds, of which they rescued a number of dogs. Ed was a coin collector, a movie enthusiast and loved his BMW’s. He was a “techie” and was eager to try new cutting-edge technologies when they were available. A self-proclaimed “hippie,” he was a big music fan of Mo-Town music, as well as the Rolling Stones, Santana, Billy Joel, and other 70’s and 80’s bands.

In his younger years he practiced karate and loved playing basketball. Later in life he enjoyed yoga. A natural handyman, he enjoyed spending time at home, especially working in his yard followed by relaxing on his back porch with a cold beer.

In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his younger sister, Vivian Perez. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana (Dall), his daughter Rebecca-Rose and her fiancé, Skylar Collins, as well as a special cousin, Pete Perez.

Cremation services are private and under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ 08822.
