Edwin W. Smith, age 58 years, of White Township, NJ, died Sunday, September 26, 2004 at his residence.
Born in Doylestown, PA, February 19, 1946, son of the late Arthur and Geraldine Vlerebome Smith, he had resided in White Township for twenty years, in a log cabin which he built.
He was a heavy equipment operator with Mannon Excavating and Paving Co., Flemington, NJ. He was a member of the Sandy Ridge Community Church, Delaware Township, NJ.
A graduate of Hunterdon Central High School, Flemington, NJ, he served four years with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as a plane mechanic for C-130's and C-133's flown into Vietnam.
Surviving are his wife, Marsha Briant Smith; two sons, Brian Wesley Smith of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Scott Wesley Smith of San Jose, CA; a step-son, Jason Gerald Smith of Easton, PA; a step-daughter, Melissa Gallia of Asbury Park, NJ; two sisters, Joan Sabo of Stockton, NJ and Beth Kasper of Harrisonburg, VA; and a brother, Arthur Smith of Lambertville, NJ.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ.
