Eileen E. Aldom

Eileen E. Aldom, age 106 years, formerly of Glen Gardner, NJ, died Friday, August 12, 2016, at Country Arch Health Care Center, Union Township, NJ. Born in Carlstadt, NJ, September 19, 1909, daughter of the late William and Margaret Kilgallen Schaefer, she had formerly resided in Pompton Plains, NJ, and then in Glen Gardner, NJ for thirty years. An executive secretary, Eileen was employed by Chemway Corp., Fairfield, NJ, until retiring thirty-one years ago. An animal lover, she formerly volunteered at Top Of The Barn Consignment Shop in Califon, NJ. Her husband, Charles Aldom, died in 2003. Surviving are two daughters, Joanne Rountree of Raleigh, NC, and Belinda Consten of Pittstown, NJ; a son Terence Aldom of Reading, PA.; a sister, Joan Fox of Wantague, NJ; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. Cremation services are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
