Elisabeth (Betty) Tallamy, 91, passed peacefully from this life into the presence of her Lord Jesus on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Hunterdon Care Center, Flemington, NJ.

Betty, the youngest of two children, was born on August 5, 1931 to Edward and Dorothy Thompson Gillings in Cranford, NJ. She graduated from Cranford High School in 1950.

As a young woman, Betty was employed at the Children's Country Home in Westfield, NJ. It was there that she met her husband, Norman Gilbert Tallamy, and the two were married on August 18, 1951.

Betty was a devoted wife for 68 years and a mother of seven children. Betty worked as a private duty nurse for many years. She was very active as a 4-H leader in Hunterdon County and raised many breeds of domestic show rabbits, and also managed two commercial rabbitries. Her many passions included sewing, knitting, gardening, and multiple homemaking skills she passed along to her children and grandchildren. Betty displayed artistry and precision workmanship in her own business, Queen Bee Crafts, specializing in silk floral arrangements and customized wedding cake tops.

Betty is lovingly remembered by her three sons; Glenn Tallamy of Phillipsburg, NJ, Gary Tallamy of Bloomsbury, NJ, Russell Tallamy (Melissa) of Limerick, PA, and three daughters; Geniene Lorenz (John) of Newark, DE, Dawn Falzone of Dayton, TN, and Kathleen Torrone (Mike) of Dallas, GA. Betty leaves a legacy of fifteen grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her sister Dorothy Cynthia Bartlett, of Bound Brook, NJ, and her son-in-law, James Agnew, Colonel, US Army, Retired (Karen), of Florida.

Betty was predeceased by her parents Edward and Dorothy Thompson Gillings, her eldest daughter Gail Tallamy Agnew, her nephew-in-law Wayne Little, her beloved husband, Norman Gilbert Tallamy , son-in-law, Mark Falzone, daughter-in-law, Donna Bishop Tallamy , and niece, Barbara McCarthy Coan.
