Elizabeth "Betty" Stockman

Elizabeth “Betty” Stockman, age 80, died Friday, April 23, 2021 at her home in Hillsborough NJ.

Born January 17, 1941 in Flemington NJ, Betty was the daughter of the late Russell and Dorcas (Jelliffe) Hill. She lived in Hillsborough her entire life and was a graduate of Somerville High School in the Class of 1959.

Betty was a life-long member of Clover Hill Reformed Church in Hillsborough NJ.

For more than 45 years, Betty worked at Foothill Acres Nursing Home in Hillsborough serving in many different capacities, which included working in the gift shop as a volunteer when she retired. She also worked as an Administrative Assistant for Herder & Tarricone Associates for more than 15 years.

Betty loved to read anything she could get her hands on, especially the latest copy of ‘Readers Digest.’ In addition to her love of reading, she enjoyed listening to classic Country music, particularly Kenny Rogers, or taking in a John Wayne movie whenever she could. Some of her favorite pastimes were tending to her flower garden, completing many kinds of trivia and word puzzles or watching Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune everyday.

One of her most treasured memories was a 2004 dream trip with her sister, Martha, and her daughter, Beth, to a place that she always wanted to travel to - Oahu, Hawaii. More than anything, she loved spending time with her seven grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her brother, Everitt Hill in 1979. She is survived by her three sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel & Vickie Stockman of Wind Gap PA, Donald Stockman of Hillsborough NJ, and David Stockman of Somerset NJ, her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Adam Brenner of Springfield NJ, her sister and brother-in-law, Martha Hill and Ralph Smith of Ickesburg PA, her seven grandchildren, Daniel, Samantha (Rob), Casey, Justin (Viki), Matthew (Chandni), Brianne and Alexandria, and her two great grandchildren, Macey and Benjamin, as well as her many close friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Funeral services officiated by the Pastor Marisol Ferrer Malloy will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Clover Hill Reformed Church, 890 Amwell Road, Hillsborough NJ. Calling hour will be Monday morning from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church. Interment will immediately follow in the adjoining Clover Hill Church Cemetery.

Those attending the funeral are encouraged to wear something in Betty’s favorite color, blue.
