Elizabeth "Betty" Young Ballantyne

Elizabeth "Betty" Young Ballantyne, age 90 years, passed away peacefully Friday, November 8, 2013 at Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Township, NJ.

Born in Newark, NJ on August 5, 1923, Betty moved to West Orange, NJ in 1967. She worked at Prudential Insurance Company for 38 years as Medical Administrator and X ray Technician and was the first female President of the Prudential Athletic Association in its 55 year history. Following retirement Betty relocated to the original Leisure Village in Lakewood, N.J. She was an active volunteer in the community for many years and a member of The Presbyterian Church of Toms River. A lifelong New York Yankees fan, Betty became an original season ticket holder and booster of the Lakewood BlueClaws.

Betty is survived by a large and loving family of nieces, nephews, great nephews & nieces, cousins and close friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at The Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1070 Hooper Ave., Toms River, NJ 08753, followed by a reception in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the House of Hope of The Presbyterian Church of Toms River is appreciated.
