Elizabeth C. Bauersachs

Elizabeth C. Bauersachs, of Kingwood Township, NJ, died on Friday, December 13, 2013 at her home where she had resided for many years with her daughter, Heidi R. Trstensky.

Born in Manhattan, NY, January 18, 1926, daughter of the late Joseph and Rosa Weber Sendele, she had resided in Brooklyn, NY for many years prior to moving to Kingwood Township in 1990.

An Olympic freestyle swimmer, she became a top buyer for B. Altman & Co. in New York City, NY.

In 1949, she married her true love, Rudolph J. Bauersachs, M.D., who fondly referred to her as "Butsi" and then the two operated his obstetrics practice in Brooklyn, NY for the next forty years until his sudden death in 1988. Additionally, she raised her three children and then as "Oma," she affectionately helped her daughter raise her granddaughters, Stephanie and Analisa Trstensky.

Upon moving to Kingwood Township, she joined Our Lady of Victories Church and taught CCD for thirteen years to the 2nd grade communion class.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by her son-in-law, R. Steve Trstensky in 2006.

Surviving, in addition to her daughter, Heidi, are her son, Rudolph Bauersachs of Pine Bush, NY; her son and daughter-in-law, Rolf and Jennifer Bauersachs of Kingwood Township, NJ; five grandchildren, Stephanie and Analisa Trstensky and Hanna, Sarah and Katelyn Bauersachs; a sister, Marie Nitchske of East Meadow, NY; and a niece, Rosemarie Reinhardt and nephew, Rudolph Nitchske.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Victories Church, Route 519, Baptistown, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church on Tuesday morning. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. There are no public calling hours.
