Elizabeth C. "Betty" Riley

Elizabeth C. “Betty” Riley, age 95 years, of Phillipsburg, NJ, died Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital-Warren Campus, Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born in Lambertville, NJ, November 19, 1928, Betty was the daughter of the late Paul F. and Catharine Campion Congilio.

She was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County having formerly resided in Lambertville, Flemington, Ringoes and Milford, NJ.

A graduate of Lambertville High School, Betty was a charter member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Flemington, NJ and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Flemington Elks Lodge #1928.

Betty was employed for over thirty years at the Hunterdon County Surrogate’s Office, Flemington, NJ, until she retired.

Her son, Daniel Waisenpacker, died in 1974, and her husband, Daniel Riley, died in 1977.

Surviving are a son, Samuel Waisenpacker, of Stockton, NJ; a daughter, Andria Jo Lambert, of Pensacola, FL; two grandchildren, Samuel Waisenpacker and Audra Lambert; and three great grandchildren, Matt Waisenpacker, Wyatt Lambert and Violet Rose Waisenpacker.

Arrangements and interment will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
