Elizabeth Lasak Hudock, died Friday,
December 6, 2013, at Bridgeway Care Center, Hillsborough Township, NJ. She was born in Ashley, Pennsylvania on February 8, 1917 to Frank and Elizabeth Lasak. Betty was orphaned at the age of five and she and her sisters Mary and Margaret, and her brother Frank were separated and went to live with cousins throughout Pennsylvania. Betty went to live in Dallas, PA with her cousins, the Haslinskis, at Fernbrook Inn. Years later, Betty was reunited with her sisters when they were young girls in their 20s. They quickly bonded and stayed close for the rest of their lives.
Betty married the love of her life, Michael (Jerry) Hudock, on February 3, 1951. They moved to New Jersey in 1952 to be close to her sister Mary and family. They lived in Roselle, Elizabeth, and Linden until 1978 when they moved back to Wilkes Barre, PA. Her husband, Jerry, died in 1988. Then, in 1993, Betty moved back to NJ to be close to her niece, Debbie and family. She then lived in Roselle Park and Flemington. Betty was a wonderful homemaker, talented seamstress, and a terrific cook!
Betty was predeceased by her husband Michael (Jerry) in 1988, her great-nephew Michael in 1989, her sister Mary in 1994, and her sister Margaret in March 2013.
Betty is survived by her niece Debbie Grimaldi and husband Carmen and their son John; her nephews Bob, George, and Bill Kopsack of Pennsylvania; her niece-in-law Barbie Stevenson and her husband Howie, their son Chris and his wife Kerry and their daughters Katie and Maddie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6-8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
