Elizabeth L. Shannon

Elizabeth L. Shannon, age 78 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at her residence.

Born in Teaneck, NJ, March 6, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Annabelle Whiteside Ziehl. She had formerly resided in Scotch Plains, NJ.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Hugh F. Shannon, died in 1997. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Shannon of Readington Township, NJ, and Catherine Shannon of Norwalk, CT; two sons, Hugh Shannon of Asbury, NJ, and Paul Shannon of Parsippany, NJ; and four grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Thurday from 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
