Elizabeth Mary Kevett

Elizabeth Mary (Hewitt) Kevett, 76, of Flemington, New Jersey, passed away on November 10, 2021 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township NJ. Elizabeth was born in Trenton, New Jersey, on January 6, 1945. She graduated from Steinert High School in 1962 and worked as a manager in banking and insurance most of her career, where she took pride in providing exceptional customer service. In addition to devoting herself to raising her daughter and supporting her family, Elizabeth was also focused on giving to others in need. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and, during her retirement in Barnegat, New Jersey, was a member of St. Mary’s Parish and their Crafty Ladies group, where she made countless baby hats, blankets and shawls for donation. Her family, friends and neighbors also benefited from her love of cooking and baking for others, particularly around the holidays. Elizabeth was also known for taking in animals in need and donated to organizations supporting animal rescue. We will greatly miss her. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Dorothy (Leeds) Hewitt; and her six brothers, Kenneth, Lawrence, James, Bruce, Earl, Jr. and Christopher. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Catherine Kevett; son-in-law, James O’Connor; her beloved grandson, Liam O’Connor; her sisters, Audrey Conover, Miriam Gernhardt and Catherine Faille; and her brothers, Jesse Hewitt and Greg Hewitt. Funeral services for Elizabeth will be officiated by the Rev. Christopher Small at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home at 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Interment and cremation will be private. Friends and family will gather Thursday morning from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in-person.
