Elizabeth R. Steckel

Elizabeth R. Steckel, age 93 years, of West Lafayette, IN, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Westminster Village in West Lafayette where she resided. A resident of West Lafayette for eight years, she had formerly resided in Piscataway, NJ, Flemington, NJ and Easton PA.

Born in Macon, GA, March 3, 1920, daughter of the late Robert E. Roberts and Hazel Maurer Roberts, she was a graduate of Auburn University and was formerly an administrative assistent with Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, NJ.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, needlework, bridge, reading and bowling.

Her husband of fifty-six years, Joseph Steckel, died in 1998.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Steven Marshall of West Lafayette,IN., Lyn and Robert Liesch of Flemington, NJ, and Nan and Richard Zitney of Marydel, DE.; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Somerset Hills Cemetery, Basking Ridge, NJ. Calling hours will be Thursday 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home.
