Elizabeth T. Suydam, age 83 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Saturday, September 3, 2005 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Baltimore, MD, June 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy Thompson King. She had formerly resided in Flemington, NJ, Clinton, NJ and Ellenton, FL.

She was a telephone operator for NJ Telephone Company, Flemington, NJ, and also in Clinton, NJ, until retiring.

An avid reader, Mrs. Suydam was a member of the VFW Post # 7856 Ladies Auxiliary and was sincerely devoted to the preservation and protection of the enviornment and endangered species.

Her husband, Lester Suydam, Sr., died in 1988. Surviving are a daughter, Kristin Wendy Suydam of Belleville, NJ; a son, Richard Lewis Suydam of San Francisco, CA; a step-son, Lester Suydam, Jr. of Flemington, NJ; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one niece; and three nephews.
