Elsie Anna Mccloughan

Elsie Anna Reger McCloughan, age 88, of Ringoes, NJ passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 while visiting family in Spring, TX. She was born in Somerville NJ on February 19, 1933 the daughter of the late Charles Arnold and Eunice (Rinehart) Reger. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Roger William McCloughan Sr., for nearly 61 wonderful years until his passing in May, 2013.

Elsie was an officer and member of the Amwell Valley Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Flemington Elks Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a volunteer at Hunterdon Medical Center. Elsie drove a school bus for East Amwell Township and worked for many years as a dental assistant in Flemington. Elsie especially enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and playing dominos.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Elsie was predeceased by her son-in-law, Bruce Underkoffler.

Surviving are son Roger McCloughan, Jr. (wife Joan) of Yardley, PA, two daughters Deborah Grusemeyer (husband David) of Marmora, NJ and Susanne Underkoffler of Spring, TX. In addition, Elsie is survived by seven grandchildren, Ann Shea-McCloughan, Scott McCloughan, Mary Jane Miller, Addie Brown, Elizabeth Signor, Christian Underkoffler, and Katie Underkoffler, in addition to seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are longtime friends from the Flemington-Ringoes area.

Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Mary "JJ" Simpson-Keelan will be held Monday, January 3, 2022 at 12:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Ringoes, NJ. Visitation hours will be held Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
