Elsie M. Fleming

Elsie M. Fleming, age 87 years, of Holtwood, PA passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center.

She was the wife of the late Marvin G. Fleming who passed away on April 9, 2006. She was born in Hunterdon County, NJ, daughter of the late Clarence & Harriett Mundy Hummer.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ of Milford, NJ and had also attended Oakwood Mennonite Church of Conowingo, MD. She was an office manager for a variety of businesses last working for Kasper Disposal of Annandale, NJ. She was a member of the Stanton Grange and Spring Mills Grange and the Holland Township Women’s Club. She was an avid crocheter, and enjoyed collecting butter churns and antiques.

Surviving is a daughter: Harriett S., wife of John C. Harrison, of Holtwood, PA and a foster daughter, Evelyn LePoidevine of Milford, NJ. She was preceded in death by a foster son, John Bolmer, and three siblings: Clarence Hummer, Eleanor and Caroline Kasper. Funeral services will take place from the Rawlinsville Mennonite Church, 838 Susquehannock Drive, Holtwood, PA on Wednesday, August 31st at 7 p.m.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday at 2:30 PM in Newell Cemetery, Stanton, NJ under the direction of the Holcmbe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 1-2 PM in the funeral home.
