Emma Jane Allegar Drenkhahn, age 85 years, of Three Bridges, NJ, died on Monday, May 26, 2014 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Three Bridges, August 27, 1928, daughter of the late Norman and Kathryn Dilts Allegar, she was a lifelong area resident.
A 1946 graduate of Flemington High School, Flemington, NJ, Emma was baptized as a child in the Three Bridges Reformed Church and remained an active member the rest of her life.
Emma was a member of the Three Bridges Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and worked for over thirty years as a Postal Clerk for the United States Postal Service, spending most of her career in the Three Bridges, NJ Post Office.
Her husband, Charles Drenkhahn, died in 2004 and a brother, James Allegar, died in 2007.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Mary Jane Drenkhahn of Raritan Township, NJ; a daughter, Sue Drenkhahn of Holland, MI; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Drenkhahn of Raritan Township, NJ; a brother, Charles Allegar of Clover Hill, NJ; and a sister, Doris Halstead of Raritan Township, NJ.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Three Bridges Reformed Church, 470 Main Street, Three Bridges, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Three Bridges Cemetery, located directly behind the Church.
