Eriberta Maligaya, age 90 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at her home.
Born in Nasugbu, Batangas, Philippines, March 16, 1920, daughter of the late Julian and Nemesia Sobremonte Rinoza, she had resided in Raritan Township since 2003, having formerly lived in Somerset, NJ.
A Communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, Mrs. Maligaya was a member of the Nasugbu Association of the East Coast. She had formerly owned and operated Maligaya's Beauty Salon in the Philippines for over twenty-five years.
Her husband, Inocentes Maligaya, with whom she joined hands in marriage in 1942, died in 1994. She was also pre-deceased by several siblings, Jose, Rogelio, Margarita, Miguel and Salud; and a granddaughter, Maritoni.
Surviving are five daughters, Corazon Salazar of Los Angeles, CA, Gloria Maligaya of Raritan Township NJ, Norma Gonda of Somerset, NJ, Josephine Amponin of Morris Plains, NJ and Thelma Andersen of Bethlehem Township, NJ; a son, Jun Maligaya of Santa Clarita, CA; eleven grandchildren, Cheryl Rosenberg, Adler Salazar, Michael and Jayselle Amponin, Samantha Andersen, John, Chris and David Gonda, and Jor-el, Johanna and Jerry Maligaya; six great grandchildren, Colin, Deagan, Holden, Dashiell, Anthony and Aidan; and a sister, Elena Salazar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
