Ernest Brandl, 90, of Huckleberry Hill Road, Avon, died Thursday, May 14, 2009 at John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington.
He was born November 8, 1918 in New York City, son of the late Ernest and Corinne (Prediger) Brandl and had lived in Avon for many years.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. Mr. Brandl was a Tool and Die Maker at Chandler Evans in West Hartford. He was a member of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara J. and Robert Burgard of Lambertville, NJ and Nancy Chenausky of Columbia, SC; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest and Kathryn Brandl of Houston, TX and Steven and Sally Brandl of Milwaukee, WI; a niece, Kathryn and Leo Montalbano of Rye, NH; a nephew, Ernest and Nancy Brandl of Morristown, NJ; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Private graveside service and burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Pediatric Transplant, C/O Dr. Linda Addonizio, 3959 Broadway, Room 229, New York, NY 10032.
