Esther Marie "Chicky" Parisi, age 83 years, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in the Rolling Hills Care Center, Clinton Township, NJ.
Born in Newark, NJ, March 28, 1925, daughter of the late Charles and Sadie Bogart Salvatore, she had resided in Kingwood Township since 1969, having previously lived in Irvington, NJ.
She had formerly owned and operated Ippolito's Ice, Newark, NJ for many years. Additionally, she worked at Yale Product's, Flemington, NJ for eighteen years.
Mrs. Parisi was a longtime member of the Locktown Church, Locktown, NJ. She was also a member of the Locktown Grange #88 and led a Bible study group at Hagedorn Psychiatric Hospital, Glen Gardner, NJ for the past seven years.
Her neighbors were taught the art of cooking and baking fom Mrs. Parisi over the years and she was well known throughout her community for that talent.
Her son, Carmen Ippolito, died in 1997.
Surviving are her husband of forty-two years, Michael C. Parisi; her daughter-in-law, Roseann of Edison, NJ; two sisters, Viola Spagnoula of Toms River, NJ and Theresa Gocklin in Florida; three grandchildren, Carmen Ippolito, Kimberly Peterson and Cheryl Ippolito, all of Edison, NJ; five great grandchildren; and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ.
