Ethel Terhune Lehman, age 95 years, of Hillsborough Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, Febraury 1, 2005 in the Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, NJ.
Born in Belle Mead, NJ, April 26, 1909, she was the daughter of the late H. DeWitt and Emma Polhemus Terhune. She had previously resided in Branchburg Township, NJ.
She attended Montgomery Township schools and was a 1927 graduate of Bound Brook High School. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of the Readington Reformed Church, where she belonged for sixty-seven years. She gave generously of her time in the Readington community, sharing between the Ladies Auxiliary of the Readington Fire Company and the women's ministries of the Readington Reformed Church.
Her husband, Alfred Lehman, died in 1982, and a son, A. Henry Lehman, died in 1996. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Elmer, Benjamin, and Irving Terhune, and a sister, Eleanor(Nellie) Conover. Surviving are a son, Robert T. Lehman of Flemington, NJ; a daughter-in-law, Dale Lehman of Piscataway, NJ; a nephew, Kenneth Conover of Belle Mead, NJ; two nieces, Florence Henry of Princeton, NJ, and Linda Linneweber of Brielle, NJ; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM in the Readington Reformed Church, Readington, NJ. Interment will be in Readington Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
