Eugene "Gene" Budnovitch, age 74 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, January 22, 2010, at home with his family by his side after losing a battle with a severe brain injury sustained by a slip and fall on the ice on January 8, 2009.
Born in Olyphant, PA, September 10, 1935, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Havichalk Budnovitch. He had formerly resided in Manville, NJ.
He retired as an area mechanic from American Cyanamid, Bound Brook, NJ, in 1997.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He was a member of VFW Post #2290, Manville, NJ. He was an avid bowler and hunter, and he loved woodworking and mowing the lawn.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of forty-five years, Geraldine "Gerry" Bolouski Budnovitch, in 2004, and his brothers, George, Thomas, and John. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra A. Stefanick of Flemington, NJ, and Tina M. Wisbeski of Raritan Township, NJ; a brother, Joseph Budnovitch of Moscow, PA; three grandchildren: Jerry Stefanick and his wife Amanda, Christopher Wisbeski and Brielle Wisbeski; a great grandson, Hunter; a son-in-law, William Wisbeski; and his loving companion "Scotty Dog".
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 PM in the funeral home.
