Eugenia Karwel

Eugenia Karwel, age 96 years, of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in Merry Heart of Boonton Township, Boonton, NJ.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, May 12, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Stephanie Pienkowski. She was a longtime resident of Jersey City and Lake Hopatcong. She was a homemaker.

Her husband of fifty-four years, Walter, pre-deceased her in 1985. Surviving are a son, Robert W. Karwel, of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; four grandchildren: Lorine Donnelly, Jeanine Welsh, Stephanie Hults, and Leslie Karwel; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
