Eva Hoff Tharp

August 17, 1927 — March 14, 2017

Eva Hoff Tharp, age 89 years, of Pittstown, NJ, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Rolling Hills Care Center, Clinton Township, NJ. Eva was born in Pittstown, NJ, daughter of the late H. Russell and Sarah Pegg Hoff, and resided there all her life. A 1946 graduate of Flemington High School, she was a secretary/bookkeeper for Nemeth Motors, Flemington, NJ and later Cher-Rick Nemeth, Flemington, for twenty -five years. Eva was a member of Hobart Chapter #63 of the Order of the Eastern Star, High Bridge, NJ over fifty years. She was also a civil defense volunteer during World War 2 and was an avid bowler. Her husband of over fifty-two years, Harry E. Tharp, died in 2001. Surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins including Donna Exley, Lynn Hughes, Donn and Valerie Henry, Dave Henry, Dale and Mary Henry and Lynn and Jim Cronce. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 2:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Quakertown Emergency Medical Service, 67 Quakertown Road, Pittstown, NJ 08867.
