Everett R. Walling

October 2, 1932 — November 19, 2019

Everett R. Walling, age 87, of Kunkletown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Riddle Village, Media, PA. Born in Newark, NJ, October 2, 1932, son of the late Everett A. and Alice M. Steele Walling, he had formerly resided in Pittstown, NJ and Port St. Lucie, FL. Everett, also known as ‘Wally’, was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War receiving both the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals. He proudly worked for United Parcel Service for over 41 years as a package and tandem tractor trailer driver receiving the recognition of “one million miles of safe driving”. Everett’s diverse interests over his 87 years ranged from raising and showing horses with his daughter Sharon, earning his pilot’s license and flying his daughter Pam to college, captaining his 24’ boat while showing his daughter Gail how to drive, racing stock cars and being the proud owner of a 1987 Buick Grand National (his guilty pleasure). He also loved raising his furry friends, especially his beloved basset hounds, Clem, Chester, and Kaiser. Everett had a welcoming personality, a kind soul and was a true friend to all he met along the way, both at work and in his personal life. He always had an interesting story to tell and would always be there to lend a helping hand, whatever the situation. He was patient, always taking the time to show his daughters skills from how to catch a baseball, drive a car, to the difference between a Phillips and flat head screwdriver while fine tuning the Grand National. He was a great role model and family man, providing us all nurturing, fun-filled years and wonderful memories. He is predeceased by his wife Carol A. Walling in 2016 and one sister Evelyn A. Cables. Surviving are his three daughters, Pam Solimani and her husband Kirk of Cherry Hill, NJ, Sharon Liskowaski and her husband Michael of Milford, NJ and Gail Waterman and her husband David of New Hope, PA; six grandchildren, Brett, Meghan, Matthew, Dalton, Dylan and Logan and a niece Karen Alban and nephew Donald Vrahnos. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 12:00-2:00 PM at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Military honors will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
