Filomena "Fannie" Abbate

Filomena "Fannie" Abbate, of the Three Bridges section of Readington Township, NJ, died on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at her residence.

Born in New York City, NY, May 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace Marino Pappa. She had resided in Readington Township for fifty years.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Nunzio Abbate, Sr. in 1982, and her son, Nunzio Abbate, Jr. in 2005.

Surviving are two sons; Joseph Abbate of Alpha, PA, and Anthony Abbate and his wife, Sandi, of Readington Township, NJ; a brother, Anthony Pappa of Brooklyn, NY; a sister, Angelina Leone of Flemington, NJ; and three grandchildren: Jennifer, Luciano, and Anthony Christopher Abbate.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
