Florence M. Burenga, age 94 years, of Hopewell Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at her home.
Born in Delaware Township, NJ, June 26, 1917, she was the daughter of the late William and Jane Blagbro Fisher. A resident of Hopewell Township since 2003, she had formerly resided in Cape Coral,Florida and Ocala, Florida.
She was formerly a receptionist and secretary with Quantro, Ltd; then with All-States Design & Engineering and was then employed in the Payroll Dept. of Lee County, Ft. Myers, Floria.
She was a member of Ringoes Grange #12 for over fifty years; the Sportsmans Yacht Club in Florida; the Elks Lodge and the Moose Lodge, both in Florida and was the founder of the Pennington,NJ Friday Night Dance Club.
Her husband of sixty-seven years, Thomas I. Burenga, died in 2004 and her sisters, Eleanor Russo and Helen Culberson, died in 2010 and 2007 respectively.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Burenga and his wife, Paulette, of Litchfield, Illinois and William Russo and his wife, Cindy of Olathe, Kansas; two daughters, Barbara Anderson and her husband, Richard, of Titusville, NJ and Beverly Burenga and her husband,Merrill Mellott of Hopewell, NJ; five grandchildren and six great grandchilren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 17,2011, at 2 PM in Union Cemetery, Ringoes, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to VVA of Mercer County Hospice, PO Box 441, Trenton, NJ 08611.
