Florence Rocco Deschu

Florence Rocco Deschu, age 91 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Monday, April 27, 2009 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Harbourton, NJ, August 12, 1917, daughter of the late Thomas and Laura Cook Marion, she had resided most of her life in Hunterdon County, NJ.

She attended Flemington High School, then was employed by Dave Kahn Fur Company, Flemington, NJ and then was employed and also volunteered for many years at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ. Additionally, Mrs. Deschu was a member of the East Amwell Senior Citizens and she had formerly been active for many years with the Hunterdon County Democratic Club.

Her husband, Luciano Rocco, died in 1978. She was also pre-deceased by five brothers, Joe, Charlie, Bill, Tom and Russell Marion and three sisters, Viola, Henryetta and Helen.

Surviving are her husband, Casper Deschu; three daughters, Joan Haberle of Stockton, NJ, Carol Rodamer of Sedona, AZ, and Angela Schapley of Missoula, MT; six grandchildren, Dawn Rafferty of Shark River Hills, NJ, Laura Fleming of Phoenix, AZ, Beth Steffanelli of Stockton, NJ, Bill Burger of Haycock Township, PA and Jed and Joanna Schapley of Missoula, MT; five great grandchildren, Ryan and Shannon Fleming, Brianna Rafferty, and P.J. and Matthew Steffanelli; one great-great granddaughter, Carlee Fleming; and two sisters, Mary Uzonyi of Ocala, FL and Laura Masterson of Phoenix, AZ.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ.
