Floyd Lee Evans

Floyd Lee Evans III departed his earthly home Wednesday, October 19 in his 59th year. Lee lived in Mooresville, NC. He is survived by his Mother, Diana L. Evans from Frenchtown NJ and Father, Floyd L. Evans, Jr. from Alexandria Township NJ. He is also survived by his sister, Denise L. Evans of Gaffney SC, and her four children Scott, Pasha, Valentina and Olena.

Lee was born in Valley Hospital, Ridgewood NJ on March 11, 1963, when his family lived in Paramus NJ. They moved to Delaware Township in 1966 in the Locktown area of Hunterdon County residing on a farm that they purchased.

Lee graduated from the Delaware Township School, attended Buckingham Friends School in Solebury PA, Hunterdon Central Regional High School and Blair Academy in Blairstown NJ. Lee volunteered for the United States Air Force and served as an Emergency Medical Technician with his longest assignment in Spangdahlem, Germany.

Lee was a graduate of the Columbus (Ohio) College of Art and Design. He has done several paintings and some beautiful photography with unusual effects. As an industrial designer he worked for many companies including Ingersoll Rand, and he was most recently employed by a division of NASCAR that designs the heat resistant uniforms required by all drivers for their protection in case of a crash and fire.

Lee was an accomplished photographer, snow skier, and horseback rider. His greatest joy was photography, some favorites included extensive photos of people in their cultural habitat while in Jamaica and many other locations, showcasing their food and villages.

He loved animals and had several pets over the years. In his youth, he was a member of Pegasus Riders 4H club, Delaware Valley Horseman’s Association, Amwell Valley Pony Club, and Amwell Valley Hounds Fox Hunt. He and his pony, Belle Star, won the pony race at Far Hills Race Meet. He was once a member of the BYF at Flemington Baptist Church. He held a private Pilot license for many years, first learning from his father in the family’s small plane. He had gone skydiving and skied the Alps. Lee also traveled to Zimbabwe to work in a hospital with children. He had been a body builder and model, he could tell a great story and had a big personality.

Funeral Services will be at Holcombe Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ 08822 on Saturday, October 29, 2022 with a viewing from 12:00 Noon-2:00 PM and then followed with a service conducted by the Rev David Errickson. Burial will be private.
