Floyd Wydner, age 90, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at his home in Readington Township NJ.
Born November 7, 1928 in Union NJ, Floyd was the son of the late Floyd and Mae (Clawson) Wydner. He lived for many years in Hampton NJ before moving to Readington Township.
Floyd served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the end of world War II. After his return home, he worked in residential construction for nearly 40 years and then retired after 20 years as a maintenance worker for the Princeton MarketFair.
Floyd was a generous, kind-hearted man, and loved by so many. Until her untimely death in 1988, Floyd enjoyed bowling in leagues with his wife, Florence. He loved being outdoors. Whether it was meticulously taking care of his property or, as a young man, hunting, fishing, or playing his favorite sport, baseball. Floyd would often host pick-up games of baseball, football or basketball with his children and their many friends. His most precious times were spent playing with or watching his grandchildren pursue their various sports for many years.
Floyd was predeceased by his two brothers, John and Bob Wydner, and his sister, Shirley Castner, as well as his wife, Florence Fentzlaff. He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Susan Wydner, and Dan and Gina Wydner, his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Vince Coppola, and his daughter, Dianna Brackett. He is also survived by his grandchildren, TJ Wydner, Amy Wydner, Lindsey and her husband, Brent Gordon, Andrea Wyss, Brett and his wife, Jamie Brackett, Nick Brackett, Bobby Brackett and Danielle Brackett, as well as his three great grandchildren, Catie Gordon, Ava Wyss, and Lia Brackett, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11:30 am at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow in Newell Cemetery in Stanton NJ. Calling hour will be Friday from 10:30 until the time of service at the funeral home.
