Frances Chantz

Frances Chantz, age 101 years, of Gwynedd Valley, PA, died on Friday, October 23, 2009 in Folkways Nursing Home, Gwynedd Valley, PA.

Born in Russia, November 27, 1907, daughter of the late Hyman and Rose Cipes Chantz, she had resided in PA for the past fifteen years, having formerly lived in Teaneck, NJ, Hempstead, NY, Trenton, NJ and Frenchtown, NJ.

Emigrating from Russia in 1920, Ms. Chantz earned two Masters Degree's and was a Teacher in Trenton, NJ for forty years, before moving to NY to continue as a Teacher there. She taught various subjects including Social Studies, French and Russian.

Surviving are a sister, Ida Chantz Greenberg of Teaneck, NJ; three nieces; two nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Services will take place Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
