Frances Ebel

Frances Ebel, age 98 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, August 14, 2015 at her residence.

Born in Manhattan, NY, June 2, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Orazio and Julia Testa Taormina. She had formerly resided in Scotch Plains, NJ.

She received her Master's degree from Kean University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was a teacher of Special Education and became a Learning Disabilities Specialist. She later went on to be a real estate agent.

'Frances was a communicant of St. Magdalen Church, a Eucharistic Minister, and CCD Teacher. She was an accomplished pianist and dancer.

She married Hans Christian Ebel, Sr. in 1945, and they led an extraordinary married life dancing, traveling, volunteering, and raising a wonderful family together.

She was predeceased by her husband, Hans C. Ebel, Sr. in 2004, and her grandson, Michael Ebel in 1989. Surviving are her daughter, Frederika Ebel, of Raritan Township, NJ; her son, H. Chris Ebel, Jr. and his wife, Anna, of Raritan Township, NJ; her six grandchildren: Marisa, Christiane, Emilia, Brett, Christian, and Nicholas; and her three great-grandchildren: Carina, Willow, and Violetta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
