Frances Grimaldi

Frances Grimaldi, a loving Mother, Grandmother and Mother-in-law, age 95 years, of Hillsborough, NJ, died Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Foothill Acres Nursing Home, Hillsborough, NJ. Born in New York City, NY, December 8, 1919, daughter of the late Vincent and Eleonora (Scannella) Fatigante, she had formerly resided in Glen Ridge, NJ for 37 years. Frances loved opera. She studied voice at the New York College of Music, and was a member of the Seton Hall University Opera Club performing in a number of operas during the 1960's. She shared that interest in opera with her grandson, John, as they enjoyed many Saturday afternoons at the grand Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Frances worked as a sales associate for Hahne’s Department store in Newark, NJ. She was a member of the Glen Ridge Women’s Club, the American Association of University Women (Bloomfield-Glen Ridge Branch), and a member of Unico (Bloomfield NJ Chapter). Frances was pre-deceased by her husband Salvatore Grimaldi in 1992, a grandson Michael Grimaldi in 1989 and a brother Vincent Fatigante in 2008. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Carmen and Debbie Grimaldi of Flemington, NJ, and one grandson, John Grimaldi of Three Bridges, NJ. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Funeral Services and Interment will be private.
