Frances Helen Serridge, age 77 years, of Lakeland, FL, died Saturday, June 17, 2017, in Florida.
Born February 23, 1940 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Helen (Capp) Kiss. She spent her childhood in Flemington before moving to the Lakeland, FL area 45 years ago. She was the wife of Louis G. Serridge who passed away in 1981, then the loving partner of Gordon J. O’Malley for nearly 30 years, until his death in 2011.
Frances was in the first class to graduate from Hunterdon Central Regional High School, in 1957. While living in New Jersey, she worked for Majors in the Flemington Marketplace mall, and ShopRite on Main Street in Flemington. In Florida, she was a successful independent business owner.
She loved gardening and was an avid collector. But most loved traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Her family includes a son, James Hall, who passed away of illness in 2010, daughters Kathi Serridge-Fahr of Henderson, NV, Eileen Serridge and her partner, Jennifer Waring of Lakeland, FL, two sons, Joseph Hall and Gary Serridge, both of Lakeland; one sister, Dorothy Wallace, and her husband, Edwin, of Stockton, NJ; three grandchildren, Kelsie, Dillon, and Allie; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service is being planned for July 12th, 2017 at Church of the Resurrection in Lakeland, FL.
