Frances J. Artigliere, age 91, died Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township NJ.
Born March 23, 1932 in Morristown NJ, Frances was the daughter of the late Louis and Emma (Tallarico) Perretti. She lived in Morris Plains NJ for many years and raised her family in Madison NJ where she lived until moving to Hunterdon County more than 25 years ago.
Frances married the late August Siciliano and after his passing in 1981, she married the late Ralph Artigliere who died in 2009. While living in Madison, she worked in the Silver Department of Bloomingdales for many years – a place that she cherished, especially the interactions with her customers while working there.
Her Catholic faith was always important to her and she was a longtime parishioner of St. Magdalen Church in Flemington for more than 25 years.
A collector of country and primitive antiques, Frances had an impressive collection of early American crocks, wooden bowls and other items. A favorite pastime was rug hooking where she made several pieces for her family and friends, most of which are still in use today. Frances was a good cook and loved to entertain her family with her culinary talents at her home. In her spare time, Frances would listen to some old country music, or take in a real-life crime mystery on television. Her door was always open to anyone that needed a helping hand, especially caring for neighborhood cats that needed some extra attention. Most of all, Frances enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren, who brought her much joy.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, Frances was predeceased by two sisters and a brother. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Joseph Stolle of Flemington NJ, her two sons and daughters-in-law, Alphonse and Joyce Siciliano of Florida, and Stephen and Julie Siciliano of Madison NJ, her three grandchildren, Stephen Siciliano and his wife, Molly, Patrick Siciliano, and Brittany Siciliano, as well as her two great grandchildren, Stephen and Mason, and her brother, Joseph Perretti of Tucson AZ.
