Francis H. Doyle

Francis H. Doyle, age 90 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Saturday, April 2, 2011, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in New York City, NY, October 30, 1920, he was the son of the late Michael and Rose Doyle.

He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was an electrical engineer for Western Electric for many years until retiring. After retirement, Mr. Doyle devoted his energies to serving the Delaware Township community as a member of the Planning Board, Environmental Commission, and the Historic Preservation Committee. Additionally, at age 70, he received his Associate's Degree in Art.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-seven years, Jane Colligan Doyle; three sons, Edward Doyle of San Mateo, CA, Thomas Doyle of Glen Cove, NY, and Hugh Doyle of Sergeantsville, NJ; four daughters, Margaret Lapadula of Chestnut Hill, NY, Jane Smith of South Attleboro, MA, Kathleen Doyle of Oregon, and Frances Hamilton of Sergeantsville, NJ; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6-8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
