Francis "Sonny" Urban, Sr.

Francis "Sonny" Urban, Sr., age 71 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, June 2, 1936, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna McKeon Urban.

He was an electrical engineer and traveling operator with PSE&G, until retiring in 1999.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He was a member of the Marine Corps League.

He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Beckyann Byers Urban; a son, Francis D. Urban, Jr.; a daughter, Melissa McElroy and husband, Robert McElroy; and a granddaughter, Reilly "Gorgeous" McElroy, all of Delaware Township, NJ.

Military Honors Services will be held on Saturday at 8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the funeral home.
