Frank Hickman Sr., 88, of Hamilton Township, N.J., died Friday, Jan.
11, in his home.
He founded the Trenton Building Block Co. in Lawrenceville, N.J.
Before that, he managed several A&P stores in Trenton, N.J., and
Flemington.
Born Feb. 28, 1913, in Trenton, he was a son of the late John B. and
Anna Hickman. He resided in Flemington for 11 years before moving to
Hamilton Township in 1946.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific
theater.
He was a graduate of Trenton High School.
He was a member of Darcy Lodge 37 F&AM of Flemington, was a past
patron of Order of the Eastern Star Darcy Chapter 138 of Flemington,
and was a past president of the Hamilton Township Lions Club.
His wife, the former Isabelle Mills, died in 1990.
He is survived by two sons, Frank II of Frenchtown and John M. of
Beachwood, N.J.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Holcombe-Fisher
Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington. Call from 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington.
