Frank J. Kurtz, Sr.

Frank J. Kurtz, Sr., age 83 years, of Alexandria Township, NJ, died on Friday, April 10, 2009 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Northampton, PA, July 12, 1925, son of the late Frank and Mary Yurasits Kurtz, he had resided in Alexandria Township for the past sixty years.

A Land Surveyor and Engineer, Mr. Kurtz graduated from the Newark College of Engineering and worked for Riegel Paper Co., Milford, NJ for many years.

Mr. Kurtz was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II and a longtime member of Our Lady of Victories Church, Baptistown, NJ. He was an avid baseball fan, and was involved with local baseball and softball leagues for many years.

Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Margaret Mary Nagy Kurtz; two daughters, Suzanne Penyak of Milford, NJ and Margaret McPherson of Milford, NJ; three sons, Frank Kurtz, Jr. of Frenchtown, NJ, Joseph Kurtz of New Brunswick, NJ and Robert Kurtz of Alpha, NJ; a brother, John Kurtz in FL; a sister, Johanna Kerman in VT; and nine grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Victories Church, Route 519, Baptistown, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
