Frank W. Bohren, 88, of Raritan Township, died Saturday, Sept. 2, in the Hunterdon Medical Center. A civil engineer, he was a founder, president and chief executive officer of Bohren & Bohren Engineering in Flemington. Born Dec. 3, 1911, in Raritan Township, he was a son of the late William U. and Elizabeth Leigh Bohren. He had resided in Hunterdon County all of his life, residing in Lambertville from 1950 to 1971 and in Raritan Township since 1971. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a 1927 graduate of Flemington High School and a 1931 graduate of Rutgers University. Active most of his life in Democratic Party politics, he was a former three-term Hunterdon County Freeholder, former Hunterdon County Engineer and at one time a municipal engineer for 21 of Hunterdon County's 26 municipalities. He was a past master of Darcy Lodge No. 37 F&AM of Flemington and a delegate from New Jersey at several Democratic National Conventions. His wife, the former Elizabeth Vanderbilt, died in 1980. He is survived by two sons, William U. II of Delaware Township and Frank W. II of Flemington; a brother, William A. of Readington Township; a sister, Ruth Charous of Flemington; two grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Prospect Hill
Cemetery, Flemington. Call 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Holcombe-Fisher
Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington.
