Freda K. Van Lieu

Freda K. Van Lieu, age 94 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Monday, December 23, 2019, at her home.

A lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, she was born in Reaville, NJ daughter of the late Theodore and Mabel Quick Kaim, and had formerly resided in Ringoes, NJ for many years and had resided in Flemington since 1981.

Freda was a 1941 graduate of Flemington High School and was formerly employed in the Hunterdon County Agricultural Agent’s office in Flemington, NJ. She later candled eggs for her husband assisting him on their egg routes for over thirty years during the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

Freda for several years played the piano for the former Reaville Presbyterian Church. In addition, she was a member of the Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church of Ringoes, NJ, joining that church in 1957. She also was a member of the Shuffleboard Club of Fort Myers, FL where she and her late husband vacationed.

Her husband of seventy-two years, Robert H. Van Lieu, died in 2014. Freda was also predeceased by her brother, Walter Kaim, and her sister, Margaret Kaim Van Lieu.

Surviving are two daughters, Shirley and son-in-law David C. Bond of Ringoes, NJ and Ginger Van Lieu Twardy of Lebanon, NJ: a son, Robert W. and daughter-in-law, Mary Van Lieu of Rock Hill, SC; her grandchildren, Linda Bond, David S. Bond, Krystle Van Lieu, Ashley Kane and Heather Baillie; and her great- grandchildren, Kyle Bond, Myranda and Peyton Bond, Ryan and Hannah Baillie, Anthony Van Lieu, Milanna Modaffore, Dakota, Trinity and Heston Kane.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Burial will be In Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Reaville, NJ. Calling hours will be Saturday 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
