Gail W. Glashoff, age 80 years, of Ringoes, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Plainfield, NJ, September 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Richard E. and Madge (Peniston) Wiles. She grew up in Neshanic, NJ and was a graduate of Somerville High School with the Class of 1961. She had resided in Hunterdon County, NJ for nearly 60 years.
As a young lady she was formerly employed as a temp for RCA, Mobile, Exxon, and Johnson & Johnson. She went on to be employed in many positions by the Lebanon Township Municipal Government, where she was Land Use Board Secretary and part of the Planning/Zoning Administration, she worked there for the last 38 years. In addition, she was former Vice President and Treasurer of the New Jersey Planning Officials (NJPO) for 10 years and was on the East Amwell Township Planning Board twice. Gail was one of those people who LOVED her job.
Aside from work, Gail’s other lifelong passion was raising English Pointers. She enjoyed going to dog shows all over the country and especially going to York, PA with her English Pointers. In fact, she was extremely active in the American Pointer Club, serving in many different capacities throughout the years, including treasurer, recording secretary, and on the board of directors.
Some of her other favorite travel destinations included Kiterry, Maine and Lancaster, PA, where she and her late husband enjoyed Sight and Sound Theatres. Moreover, she enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially her favorite drivers: Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, and Brad Keselowski. Finally, she loved spending time with family and always looked forward to a nice meal out.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband of 54 years, the late George Glashoff, who died in 2019.
Surviving are a daughter, Beth Ann Glashoff of Ringoes, NJ; a son George C. Glashoff, Sr., of Delaware Township, NJ; four grandchildren, Kayla E. Glashoff, George C. Glashoff Jr., Morgan L. Glashoff and Eric P. Glashoff; and six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Dakota, Roman, Sydney, Dustin, and Savannah; as well as a brother-in-law, Charles Glashoff of Flemington, NJ.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Bob DiSalvio, will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial, next to her late husband, in Union Cemetery, Boss Road, Ringoes, NJ will conclude the services.
