George A. Wilk, of Manchester Township, NJ, age 90 years, died Friday, February 13, 2015, in the Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, February 5, 1925, son of the late Morris and Dinah Wilk, he had resided in Flemington, NJ over sixty-five years, before moving to Manchester Township, NJ. eight years ago
A retired upholsterer, he had owned and operated Wilk's Upholstery Shop, Flemington, NJ, for many years.
A 1943 graduate of Flemington High School, he attended the University of Arizona and was a US Army veteran of World War 2, serving in Sicily. George was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and the Disabled War Veterans.
His wife, Claire Schwartz Wilk, died in 1987 and his brother, Barnet Wilk, died in 1978.
Surviving are a daughter, Meryl Wilk of Austin, TX; a son Charles Wilk of Readington Township, NJ; two grandchildren, Joshua Wilk and Samantha Wilk and his companion of twenty-two years, Dolores Friedman of Manchester Township, NJ.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 16, 2015, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, Flemington, NJ.
