George Mironchik, age 78 years, of Franklin Township, Hunterdon County, NJ, died on Thursday, February 23, 2006, at his residence.
Born in New York City, NY, October 17, 1927, he was the son of the late Stefan and Thecla Yeskewich Mironchik. He had formerly resided in Kingwood Township, NJ.
He was a retired machinist formerly employed by the Jefferson Smurfit Corporation, Kingwood Township, NJ.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a longtime, faithful volunteer at the Pequest Fish Hatchery, Oxford, NJ, and the Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge, Bedminster, NJ.
He was a member of the Franklin Township Board of Elections, and was a member of American Legion Post #159, Flemington, NJ.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Mary Zagari Mironchik; three daughters; Teresa Higgins, of Sacramento, CA, Frances Mironchik, of Sacramento, CA, and Anne Mironchik, of New York City, NY; a son, James Mironchik, of New York City, NY; a brother, Walter Mironchik, of Kingwood Township, NJ; and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM in Our Lady of Victories Church, Route 519, Baptistown, NJ. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
