German R. Greene

German R. Greene was born April 29, 1955 in Colon, Panama. He migrated to the United States in 1961 at six years old and became a native of Brooklyn, NY. German grew a deep love for Brooklyn and everything New York. German was a graduate of St. Teresa Catholic Elementary School and he always kept a firm foundation of faith throughout his years. German was always eager to converse about spirituality and life with those he loved. German eventually became an ordained minister in his later years and was devoted to spreading the word of God. German also grew an affinity for sports and any sports team affiliated with his beloved New York City! German had a special love for basketball as Captain of the JV Basketball team and a Varsity player at Sheepshead Bay High School. As a graduate from BMCC, German continued to stay athletic for many years while working multiple jobs. His main career was as a computer analyst for many companies such as Goldman Sachs, Bank of Tokyo and EDS. Throughout the years German also worked as a Clerk at the local fruit stand, chauffeur DJ, Exterminator, School Bus Driver and in his later years a faith counselor at High Point in Flemington. These experiences exemplify German’s strong work ethic and drive. German loved and lived for family! German eventually made his way out to Somerville, NJ to raise his family in the suburbs and tried to convince so many members of his family to do the same thing! German was, and will always be, an inspiration to lead a faith driven life. German is deeply loved and will be missed by so many. German is survived by his sons, German and Jason, his ex-wife Judith, his brother Osvaldo, his sisters Giola, Lavinia, Digna and Abitzel, his nephews and nieces Ronald, Rigoberto and Carlton, Alicia, Melanie and Adina, his grandchildren, Damien and Harrison, and their children Eliot, Spencer, Noä and Kai. In his famous words and laugh, “Peace out Man.” Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale NY 11735. Calling hour will be Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
